About Us

The Women in Finance Alliance was founded in 2017 by Hannah Sassi, who was then about to graduate from the GW School of Business. Before graduating, Hannah wished to create an organization that would provide targeted support and resources to female students who were interested in finance. The goal was to build a network of upperclassmen, underclassmen, and alumni who could encourage each other and help generate interest in a field of study and work that was largely dominated by men. This was the founding vision of WIFA and moving forward the organization aims to make a significant impact in the professional pursuits of its members and continue to foster the exploration of financial topics and career paths among GW undergraduate women.

Our mission

Our Mission

The mission of the Women in Finance Alliance at GW is to provide female students interested in finance with networking opportunities, education and workshops, and targeted support and resources, with the purpose of helping our members achieve their professional aspirations and increasing gender diversity in financial fields.
